About this piece
The Travertine Ring Wall Lamp is a shallow dish of stone with a small wooden sphere seated at its centre, closer to an object hung on a wall than to a fixture. The travertine keeps its open pores and pale sandy grain, and the wood is left bare so its rings stay visible. Light escapes from behind the sphere and pools into the dish, ringing the wood in warm white with no lamp in sight. Built-in LED, and a column of three works as well as one.

Does it need an electrician to install?
It wires into a standard wall box, exactly like swapping out an existing fitting. Turn the power off at the breaker, connect the three wires, and mount it — most people do it themselves in about 20 minutes. If you would rather not, any electrician will have it up in a single visit.
